A NEW ERA IN THE LFA

A NEW ERA IN THE LFA

Hi guys,

It is after four years of trial and error with this hockey project that we can definitely say that we have arrived to a new era in La Ligue Fédérale des As. This does not mean that there will be no other changes, that there is no room for improvement, or that we will sit on our ass and let it be. But after meeting our 88 regulars players individually last season, the league administration has a better idea of what makes the consensus within the group. That said, the mission of the league remains the same, providing an optimal hockey experience to its members while supporting the community.

AND THE CHAMPIONS ARE...

On August 27, the first Inter-Divisional Final of the LFA was held. Indeed, members of the best league in the Montreal area were able to choose for the 2017 summer season to play either in one of the teams of the metropolitan division or for one of the new south-shore division's teams, which played at the Brossard Bell sport complex. The high quality facilities that usually serves as the second home for the Montreal Canadiens attracted more than one, whom were divided into four teams. For their part, the six Montreal teams played their games at the Notre-Dame College arena, our usual rink; the two divisions completed the summer season with semi-finals to determine which teams would represent their respective division in the Inter-Division Final.

INTER-DIVISION, INTERNATIONAL AND INTER-TEAM, BUSY TIMES IN THE LFA!

INTER-DIVISION, INTERNATIONAL AND INTER-TEAM, BUSY TIMES IN THE LFA!

Most people would be surprised to learn that an adult hockey league could be so busy outside our weekly games and get-togethers in early July, but this is the case in the LFA. After two weeks of inter-division games, the first of their kind in our history, we also played our first international match against a Swiss-based team, which actually had players from six different nationalities. We then finished the week by re-adjusting our teams through a few trades. Add a special game on Friday so that each team plays the same number of matches in the calendar and we end up with seven games in a seven-day stretch. Now you will understand that it has been a very busy period in the LFA.

OVERVIEW OF LFA ACTIVITIES
