MY LIFE IN ((((SUBORAMA))))

MY LIFE IN ((((SUBORAMA))))

Seriously, we have had the equivalent of two teams in terms of "SUBS" on Saturday and in the previous weekend as well. Sixteen! And I did not count the new goalie in. On top of that, it was their first time for some with us. Try to balance the teams with the schedule of some who are available at 4h30 but neither at 3h00 or 6h00. Would you like an apple turnover with that?! I sometime feel like a travel agent booking a flight for mr wonderfull

LOTS OF NEW STUFF TO START THE SEASON

LOTS OF NEW STUFF TO START THE SEASON

On this day that appears to be the beginning of the fall after our first games of the season, it is difficult to draw a conclusion on the new teams given the high number of substitutes as well as the players who yesterday played in their first game since the spring. Although some things were blatantly obvious, we will wait for all the teams to play each other once before making changes.

THE TOMAHAWKS CONCEALED WEAPON REVEALED!

THE TOMAHAWKS CONCEALED WEAPON REVEALED!

From the outset, our Fern told me of this article that would explain the success of our Tomahawks ‘Red clothes convey aggression and sense of domination.’ Les vêtements rouges véhiculent agressivité et sentiment de domination | Découvertes   To be taken with a grain of salt, as he says.

Getting back to business, it's was last Friday night at the St. Paul pub in Old Montreal, that we had our end of season gala to honor the "titans" of our league. All this took place with a great delegation of our twice champions of the 2014-2015 season, the Red Horizon Tomahawks. Besides the presentation of individual awards handcrafted by yours truly and Eric Drapeau under the banner of Totem Urbain, the evening was a beautiful moment to highlight the involvement of various people that make the experience of the LFA unique. It was also an opportunity for some to see each other for the last time before the summer break, as many of our members hang up their skates during that time. The evening also allowed our guests to admire the work of one of our players, the painter Jacob Poliquin, who featured five of his paintings representing the icons of our habs, like the Rocket and Carey Price to name only some. The painting have gained in value since their creation, and are still available and are a good short- and long-term investment, you need only to contact the league for further details.

THE GRANDE FINALE: LOGGERS VS TOMAHAWKS

Some had predicted, others doubted it, but it is finally confirmed, the Cabane Loggers and the Rouge Horizon Tomahawks will meet for a second consecutive year in the championship game that will take place Sunday, May 3rd at 6:00 pm at the College Notre Dame arena. Although the Loggers changed their name this season, they remain proud ambassadors of one of our favorite places for the post game get togethers, La Cabane located on Main.

THE SUSPENSE PERSISTS

THE SUSPENSE PERSISTS

We will have to wait until the final weekend of the round robin to know the identity of the two finalists, as we still have four teams left who could participate in the final match. The reason for this is due to the tie between the loggers and Czechers, the latter who saw the result as a bitter defeat and in the case of the men in black, they were disappointed by not giving their best, but are happy getting a valuable point late on in the game. It was undoubtedly the best game on Saturday with two teams that left it all on the ice even though both seemed disappointed with their performances.

AN OPENING IN THE CLOWDS

AN OPENING IN THE CLOWDS

Writing the league news every Sunday since early September and throughout a winter that finally seems ready to leave us; I am now full of energy because incredibly, this day is one of the few where it was sunny since the beginning of the season. Surrounded by the nine windows in the front of my loft, the bright atmosphere in which I bathe has two distinct personalities, even three if you count the night and even more when you add the textures of the seasons. However, even if I like the light-filled days, I prefer to write when it's gray and even more when the winds of blowing rain or snow come down on the windows.
